National Cherry Blossom Festival

Blossom Kite Festival

Soar off into a whimsical adventure at the Blossom Kite Festival. Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Washington Monument grounds, when international master kite makers will be setting their creations into the sky for all to see. The event will also include a Competition & Demonstration Field, Kite Club Display Area, Family Field and Activity Tents. A mini-parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. to launch the day. Families are also invited to step into the activity tents to create their one-of-a-kind kite masterpieces.

National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade

Downtown D.C. comes to life with a high-energy spring celebration, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 8, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. One of Washington, D.C.'s largest spectator events, the pink-tacular parade includes giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, celebrity performances and much more! The parade will march down iconic Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW. The event is held rain or shine. SAAM Cherry Blossom Celebration

Join the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday, March 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Museum's beautiful, glass-covered Kogod Courtyard for a celebration of Japanese culture! A taiko drumming performance kicks off the day, followed by Japanese music and dance performances, face painting and cherry blossom-themed crafts.
