Who We Are

Does your son or daughter dream of being the next cake boss, top chef, or adventurous celebrity eater? If so, Cookology's cooking camps could be just the thing they are looking for to entertain and educate this summer.

At a Cookology camp kids learn essential culinary techniques from professional chefs. During each session young chefs learn a new set of skills and practice chopping, dicing, roasting, baking, and more as they create three or more recipes from scratch each day.

They'll expand their horizons with new world cuisines, introduce their palates to the wonders of fresh, whole foods (Cookology partners with Great Country Farms), and use their creativity to prepare and plate each artfully crafted dish.

This year Cookology's camps feature new menus with gourmet recipes created and tested by their chefs. How'd you like your son or daughter to whip up a plate of chocolate cannolis, handmade cheese ravioli, or cucumber yogurt dip with fresh pita bread? Or make mealtime into family time as you work together in the kitchen to create a family dinner of BBQ chicken lettuce wraps with stir fried veggies or chicken Parmesan.

Looking to instill good eating habits at a young age? This year they're also offering a new culinary nutrition camp that focuses on healthy cooking techniques and ingredient substitutions. Their chef and nutritionist will teach kids how to calculate nutrients using American Dietetic Association guidelines (and how to make a mean chocolate chip cookie with quinoa, too!). There is even a lesson on Sports Nutrition for aspiring athletes.

Cookology camps run for five days, with three-hour sessions each day. Morning and afternoon options are available. They offer sibling discounts for multiple registrations, as well as a Master Chef discount for multiple week registrations. All classes are taught by professional chefs who specialize in instruction for kids. Best of all - kids get to eat what they make at the end of class.

What Others Say

There are few things more inspiring than watching a young chef's expression as they dig into their first bite of a molten chocolate cake--a dessert they've measured, mixed, and baked all on their own, now hot out of the oven and artfully plated with sweet vanilla cream they've just whipped and fresh strawberries they've sliced themselves.

While I love working with kids in the kitchen year round, summer cooking camps are one of the most rewarding parts of my job because every day presents a new set of discoveries and culinary excitement for kids--a full week of delicious food and guaranteed fun.

One of the best things about camp is that the kids get several days to master essential culinary techniques, explore cuisines from around the world, and create some really fantastic food. From the kids who wouldn't touch a green vegetable who eagerly wait to see if their parents can detect the secret ingredient (spinach!) in their health-ified strawberry milkshakes, to the excitement that spreads across an eight-year-olds face when his piping hot loaf of fresh baked challah comes out of the oven, it's so rewarding to meet so many enthusiastic young chefs and see their skills develop with each new technique and recipe.

I can't wait to meet the new crop of young chefs this year, and as always, welcome our returning campers for another week or two in the kitchen!

- Chef Katie Reineberg, Summer Camp Lead Chef Instructor

"My daughter attended the spring break camp. The camp exceeded our expectations - she had a wonderful time, the staff was so accommodating and informative! Thank you all so much for the hard work and effort it takes to put together and maintain such a spectacular program!"
